Factory Director
For one of our clients, a global leader in the electronics sector, we are looking for an experienced candidate for the position of Factory Director.
- Oversee all day-to-day plant operations, including production, maintenance, supply chain, and quality control.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company goals.
- Ensure the facility meets production targets while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
- Monitor and optimize production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with R&D, engineering, and procurement teams to manage production schedules and meet customer demands.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices, including waste reduction, process automation, and optimization.
- Ensure adherence to automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949).
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and environmental performance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve issues quickly and prevent recurrence.
- Oversee materials management, procurement, and inventory control to minimize production downtime.
- Develop, manage, and control the factory’s annual budget.
- Track and manage operational costs, including labour, materials, and overhead expenses.
- Identify areas for cost savings while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Lead, motivate, and develop plant staff, including department managers and production teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all labour laws and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement workplace safety programs and conduct regular safety audits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for plant-related issues with corporate management and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with key customers, ensuring that their needs are met and issues resolved in a timely manner.
- Lead efforts to integrate new technologies, e.g. automation, Industry 4.0 practices, and advanced manufacturing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree highly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment within an automotive Tier 1 company specializing in automotive electronics, including at least 10 years in a leadership role. Experience in the factory establishment phase is considered an advantage.
- Strong expertise in automotive manufacturing, with additional knowledge in lean production, Six Sigma, and other quality management systems.
- 10+ years of solid knowledge in SMT production processes is a must. The assembly line experience is a plus.
- Highly preferred a candidate with Quality background.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operations with a focus on productivity, cost efficiency, and safety.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, etc.).
- Good English level.
- Willing to openly communicate with teams across different countries.
- Willing to work with the company from the ground up.
