Your new role

The Lead System Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of the company's infrastructure services. The role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of critical infrastructure components through expert-level support and hands-on engineering. By collaborating with architects, operations, and application teams, the Technical Engineer contributes to delivering reliable and secure infrastructure that meets business and compliance needs.

Main responsibilities:

• Design and develop infrastructure services in alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards
• Act as a subject-matter expert and provide 3rd level support for complex incidents and problems
• Participate in infrastructure lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer across teams
• Participate in the on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure services outside of business hours
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers on issue resolution and improvements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including monitoring, alerting, and operational excellence
• Maintain compliance with IT security and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for the roadmap and lifecycle of Network, Datacenter, Compute and Storage

• Daily operations and management of:
• VMWare
• HPE fabric composer
• HPE arube central
• Clearpass
• HPE GreenLake

• Own and develop roadmap for Network, Datacenter, Compute and Storage, so that AD/Entra is continuously maturing and meeting best practice standards.
• Ensure processes, procedures and SOP’s to enable daily operations with Network, Datacenter, Compute and Storage @ Service Desk and Operations Team.
• Author, evaluate and review relevant SOP’s across business.
• IT service owner of relevant IT infrastructure and associated services.

What you'll need to succeed

• Relevant IT training or equivalent working experience.
• Relevant certifications, e.g. Cloud, Azure, Network, ITIL.
• Strong technical expertise in one or more infrastructure domains (e.g., compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud, or backup)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and supporting infrastructure environments
• Knowledge of infrastructure design principles, performance tuning, and high availability setups
• Understanding of ITIL processes, especially around incident, problem, and change management
• Ability to analyze logs and telemetry data to resolve issues and improve reliability
• Experience working in hybrid environments (on-premise and cloud)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
